A beautifull clear, bright, summers day. My cold no better, still I hope it will not get worse. I slept well last night, and did not rise untill after seven. Read, and sewed alternately, did not catch a nap. We had a poor, pick up dinner to day. Mrs H. has lost her good management in the arrangement of things. The servants are rather troublesome and children too at times. The heat is quiet oppressive to.day. my clothes are uncomfortable, still I dare not set in the air must soak my feet to.night.
