Clear, and pleasant, not cold. After getting through with my domestic affairs, Julie, and I set off for a promenade through Broadway. We reached “Dey St.” and looked for Mrs D. Remsen, in vain. Rode home in an Omnibus. After dinner called to see Mrs Newby, she gave us some grapes. On our return, found Catharine, with Miss Schoolcraft sitting in the parlour. They would not stay to tea with us.

Omnibus: is an old term for bus or wagonette, first launched in NYC in 1827. For more info, see: NYC Day Trippers Blog.
