Thursday 4th. November. 1841.
A day of showers and very damp.
We were surprised this morning by the arrival of Miss Hasbrouck. I had been expecting her some days past. She looks and appears well.
Our immediate consultations, of course was on dress. we sent in the store for silks, and soon selected one.
Margaret sent me some [peach] preserves, and Maria brought me some grapes. also a jar grapes jelly for “Sis” [Julie]. The rain kept us within doors.
