A constant rain, damp, dark sky. I took my breakfast in bed in pure laziness. jumped up quite well, at ten. oclock, dressed, and set myself down to write up the balance of the last ten days. Company, and sickness have presented my journalizing as usual. Garret, kissed me to.day for a wonder. He does not pay me the devoted attention I require; but the distractions of business ruffle his mind. My time hung heavily to.day as books and work require the enlivening influence of fresh air. Sewed untill my back ached. Cornelius dined with us to.day, and bid us good.bye.
