I need your feedback. Well, it’s getting to the end of the year and the end of Diary #3, and I want to get a reading on how many of you really read these posts.

Dear Susan, I do read the diary every day. I’m fascinated by the quotidian activities. So much of her life is managing the family wardrobe, sewing and shopping for clothes, cloth, and shoes. There’s a lot of visiting and being visited, promenading for exercise and to be seen. It’s great to have a peak into the past. Thank you for all you efforts!
I read every day, look up places etc. that I an not familiar with, and also look at the diary pages to see if I can read them. I can read the writing somewhat, but not very easily.
I read it every day as if it were a daily devotional! Talk to my husband about it until, I’m sure, he wishes I would shut up! Such an unusual window into the history of our country. Thank you, thank you for the incredible effort I know you have to put into this blog!
I really do enjoy reading these pages each day. But I totally understand if it is too much for you. It has been a real pleasure reading the words from so long ago.
It is so interesting to be able to read the activities of a women living in NYC during the 1800’s. Quite different from today’s world but her concerns toward family are no different than today.
i really enjoy these entries. i try to read every weekend to catch up.they don’t get deleted til i get them read. if circumstances require that you need to quit, i understand as i’ve dealt with many family issues the last couple of years. this is what has lead me to read on weekends. thanks for all you do. patti
Hi Susan, I read almost all of them. There is a cumulative effect as we get to know the Hasbrouck family. I would be sorry to see you stop, but you know how much time and effort are consumed, and you will know how many people reply–whether it seems worth it to you. Susie LeFevre Hook
I read almost every entry, and usually check them 5 times a week. As you know, I also like to try to decipher the difficult or missing words, and sometimes am successful. Really enjoy getting to know the Hasbrouck family in daily detail. But I don’t know how much work it is for you, Susan, to keep up with the postings.
I look forward to reading Julia’s diary every day. Like Dodie, I look up unfamiliar places and words. I never cared for history in school but I love this. I would be disappointed if you didn’t continue but I would understand. It must be very time consuming.
I also read Julia’s diary daily. My mother, who does not own a computer, looks forward to my phone calls so I can catch her up on Julia’s life in the 1840’s. I seldom post comments, but please know we are here and enjoying all your hard work.

I try reading daily, but don’t always fit it into the day. I usually go back and catch up!
