Thursday. 6.th. January. 1842.
Very damp, and overcast, which terminated
in a mild rain at night.
I amused myself mending Garrets old
shirt, about one dozen just dropping to pieces.
Gave my dress to Mrs. B. for alteration, also a
paper of cake for her New Years.
Mr H read “Stephen’s Travels” for me in the evening.
The rain falling in torrents.
