Saturday. 8.th. January. 1842.

Clear, and mild in the morning, but a
change before noon.

I dressed for a ride to mothers, intending to
take Sis.
Mrs. Mariner, came in to s___ work, I had
nothing to giver her.
Miss C. Yeo, from Sing.Sing. made me a visit.
Pa came in, sat a few moments, and returned
with us to nineteenth street.
I took mother some cake. Catharine, was
much better, and had been out to visit.
We sat untill dinner hour, and then returned
in a small snow storm.
They all talked a great deal about houses;
but I do not trouble my head on this
subject; leave it all to the judgement of my
better half.
