Friday. 14.th. January. 1842.

Clear, and cold. A fine winters day.

I dressed for a morning walk, but Henry
comeing in prevented my setting off.
He brought me a note from C. with a flannel
shirt for Louis, and a book to read.
I went out and left him to play with Sis.
My walk did not extend far, as I sat an
hour with Josephine Bailey.
Purchased a ladle, dipper, and potato pounder.
price four shillings, and six pence.
Returned home Maria, and Henry sitting in the
parlour. Lent Henry a magazine, and Melvilles
“Bible Thoughts”
Maria dinned with us. I fell short of oysters.
I did not purchase enough. Julie, loves them.
now, her father taught her the science.
Maria Onderdonk called. A shower in the afternoon.
