pg 51Friday. March. 1842.

A sultry spring day, with slight showers.

Bridget, spent all the day working, while I attended the children, I do not know which had the most enviable job. Simon, was down town all the morning, so we had the house to ourselves.
I permitted the children to range over the house
and could not curb their spirits, or tempers.
Walked out with Julie and Remsen. They both
felt the heat, and could not wear their coats.
I put a nankeen dress on Remsen.
Could not accomplish much work finished
a collar for Louis.
Felt lonely at bed.time, without “mon marie”
Remembered him in my visions.
