pg 74Monday. 28.th. March. 1842.

A day of high winds, and dark clouds, with an occasional gleam of bright sun.shine.

We were all bright, and early this morning. I sewed, and dusted, taught Julie her book, and performed the thousand minute affairs which
devolve on the head of a family
Walked to Broadway, was caught in two snow
storms, and almost suffocated with dust, the
wind blowing a hurricane.
Made some purchases for the children. A comb
and brush three shillings six pence.
Two catechisms, and one spelling book for Louis.
Two shillings, six pence. Walked again after dinner, and found it more
pleasant. The children went out with Bridget.
