The sun shone out brightly, but showers fell in torrents at the close of the day.

I rode up to Chelsea, altho! Eugene brought
me a note to say the children were well.
Spent two hours with them, find them all
hearty, and “Aunt Cate” says no trouble.
Henry, looks delicate, I wish he could
go on a sea voyage.
A shower over took me on my way home,
but I did not get wet.
Had chills all the evening, went to bed to get
warm. Mr Hasbrouck, wrote untill near
morning, and came to bed, without disturbing
my slumbers.
I passed an hour with the young ladies.
