A clear, cool day.

This was to be our last day at Mrs Mazers. G, left me in the morning, wishing me to follow him with the two children Julie, and Remsen.
I packed up all our clothes, and sent
them off by Simon. Just as I was
about setting off myself, Julie was taken
with a slight chill, and fever; which
kept me untill near six oclock at [noon].
I went down to dinner, and spent a
long, dull harassed kind of a day, waiting
for Garret to come in. At last he came
to take us home; Julie was better, and
willing to go. We bid Mrs M. and daughters
adieu and carried with us a greatfull
sense of their kindness.
This was our first sleep in Van Dam Street.
