A pleasant day, but cooler than yesterday. Did not allow C. [servant] to wash this morning, her wish was to do it. She made some cup cake, it was pretty good. I sat sewing on my blue mous de laine sleeves. Mrs B. came in to fit my blue striped muslin dress. She also cut two for Sis. A young girl came to beg, for a poor woman. I promised some old clothes. Took the boys hats to Mrs Staggs, she has promised them on Thursday. Went, for a short walk after dinner, exchanged a pair gloves, bought some ribbon to tie them. Did not dress to go out, it was too much trouble. Bought some “Strawberries” for the first, at six. pence the basket, they were sweet, and fine. The children were enchanted, Remmy particularly.
