pg 121Sunday. 19. June. 1842.

Very sultry, clouded, and raining at intervals. The clouds seem full of water, and ready to weep on all occasions. Continued reading “Numbers.” I dressed for Church, but on going out found the streets so wet, the air so heavy, thought it more prudent to return. My boots were thin, and, I feared to increase my cold. G.
did not go either. The day was warm and
we all felt the heat, the children were more
manageable than usual, and I strain every
nerve to train them in the way they should go.
Put them all to bed my self, with a
gratefull heart for their health and comfort.
Mr H. feels this close, damp weather w __r____s
him completely.
Louis fell in the gutter, and spoilt his new
drilling pants.
