A fine summer’s day, the soft south wind blowing charmingly.

I sat at home, cutting a muslin dress for Remsen. Eugene and Maria came in to set an hour, from commencements. Maria invited me unto spend to.morrow evening with her. I took all the children on the battery, met Garret there, he escorted us home. Julie, and I called to see “Bell”, she was out as usual, we sat an hour with Miss Roberts. I spent an hour reading the life of Burrows. G went out in the evening. An alarm of below us, kept us up until near twelve o’clock.
