Sunday. 14. teenth August. 1842.

A delightfull day, not too warm.

I did not go to Church, the waggons all full. Julie, and her father went. Two hours of quiet is a great treat to me, as besides the duties of the toilette, there are higher duties to perform. Our house is so full, and so noisy we cannot find much quiet for reading. We all enjoy this pure mountain air, Garret looks much better, and I feel its renovating influence on my system. We took a short ride in the afternoon; with the children.
