Clear, cold day, wind high, streets dusty.

We arose late this cold morning. Dr Hasbrouck,[Dr. Jacob Hasbrouck (1807-1891), married to Helen Maria Wickes (1825-?)] us by a visit, and joined us at the breakfast table. Julie, and I went twice to Church, G and the Dr did not go out except to walk. The Dr does not mind his defeat, attributes it to the rain on the day of election. The children were delighted to see “Uncle Joe.”
