This charming weather; still continues.
They intend going through to Albany if possible
to night. If they succeed it will be something uncommon indeed, to navigate this month, our north river.
Julie, walked out with me this morning. We called on
Mrs Merton, from there went up to Broadway.
A crowd of people out as usual.
I have not accomplished any work to.day, this fine
weather keeps me on the “qui vive” (1); I can not compose my mind or fingers.
Mr H. read aloud in Josephus. after tea.
I made a cap for the morning.

(1) qui vive- keeping on the alert
