A bright mild sun, melting off the snow, and ice
at a quick rate.
I attempted a short walk, returned on finding it too damp. Exchanged my “India Rubbers”, for a larger pair, paid two shillings extra. Nanny spent an hour cleaning my hair, to prevent its falling out. Alone all day, no friends came in to relieve the dull hours. Cut out two aprons for Julie. Mr H. went to his store after dinner, I wished him to take a promenade with me.
Julie, sang over her songs after dinner. I told Louis, I was out of business, but G only took the joke. We sat up late to night, Mr H. has changed his bed hour from nine, to half past eleven. A second thought to night, on an old subject.
