Weather very oppression
The children commenced school to.day. after absence. They rode both to, and from Remsen, took his last sitting at Mr Anellis
I went up to see the picture, found it rather fanciful than true. Met Mrs Remsen and Phoebe[,] Helen, on their way to my house. Mrs Anelli, returned home, with me, and sat a few minutes. The other ladies remained two hours. Helen sang for them.  Mr H. made a large purchase of Books to.day. Mr T. Wallace, called this evening. Mrs Dr Smith and two daughters sat and hour with me, she looks thin, and care worn. Josephine Lawrence, and sister, came in also.
