Dear Friends of the Stone Ridge Library:
Please join us this Friday, July 31 at 6pm, in the Library’s Reference Room, where Marie Bruno of Arte Artigianato Restauro in Kingston will discuss the process involved in restoring our life-size portrait of Garret Decker Hasbrouck. In her talk, Marie will include materials and techniques that the artist Francesco Anelli employed in 1840, and she will explain the condition of the artwork prior to and following conservation and restoration treatment.
The Garret portrait conservation is the culmination of work and commitment on the Library’s part, and I want to thank our board and so many colleagues for their support during this process. Special thanks go to the Greater Hudson Heritage Network Conservation Treatment Program that funded not only this work, but also the restoration of the companion portrait of Julia Lawrence Hasbrouck.
So please join us for this short program and a cool drink to toast Julia and Garret.
