Very warm to.day. Oppressive atmosphere.
Eugene came in to invite me to take  tea in Chelsea, I accepted.
Mr H. too much engaged to come up for me, indeed I did not wish him to do it. Met Mrs Willard, Mr and Mrs Platt, Isabella, and Ferdinand I rode home with Bell.
My brown balzarine much admired and envied. Bought a pair white mitts 20.cts.  Invited the ladies to take tea with me, but they declined, and I did not press them, uncomfortably. Mother unwell, and pale to.day. Some left handed compliments displeased me.
