A fine day, clear and brisk air.
Washington’s birth.day; the troops are out
celebrating this great event.
I must try to walk, often my restless night, so full of
chills, and unpleasant dreams. Cannot write my ink is so
scarce, and pen so poor.
I walked to Mrs Bloodgoods, to consult her about Julia’s
silk, which is to be trimmed. Met Mr B. his jaunt to Califor-
nia, has compromised his health. He shows me some lumps
