0039Wednesday. 27th Feb. / 1850.
Clear, but quite cool, wind high.
The children arose early to fly their
kites, it seemed to us all as if winter had indeed fled.
I remained at home all the morning, walked with
Julia after dinner, stopped in the “Parade ground,” she went
to try her dress. I did not like to return to the house
it was so delightfull in the open air, but a pain in
my bones sent me home.
Garret, reads very assiduosly [sic], he has accomplished much
this winter. I never knew him so studious.
He went to the Tabernacle to.night, to hear the addresses
for the closeing [sic] of stores earlier.
Julia went in to Mrs Chenery’s. Looked very pretty.
