A heavy rain all the day, very mild.
I was dull from all the effects of the
paint, my head-ached, complexion disfigured, and troublesome.
G. somewhat distrait, because I do not like his figures.
I gave him Copperfield to read. Took a warm bath. found all
my plans for the day defeated by Jane’s early arrival.
She staid all day, to dinner, this lost Julia’s time for
writeing, all that I intended.
We took our tea alone, Mrs Marshall sent for Jane. Julia wrote
two valentines for her. She gave me a paper embossed.
