Friday 21st March. 1851
A fine day

I employed myself in various
duties in the morning. Miss Fanny Tileston took tea with us and went to Broughams Lyceum with us. Julia, Louis, Remsen Mr. H and myself. “David Copperfield” amused us and, also the “World Fair”. I was fatigued before it was finished. We returned at ten (12)* oclock. Fanny staid with Julia.
Our seats were crowded, and the house full. Mr Teft escorted the young ladies home. I do not love public amusement.
Miss Lindlow, Rima and Mr Cornelo called in, Julia was out. An invitation to tea with mother tomorrow evening.
