Snow and Rain, a deep snow
We are prevented from going to Church
I regret this, wishing to hear the first sermon of the
New Year. Julia wrote to Aunt Maria H.
I wrote up this journal.
Mr. H. could not venture out untill evening, he soon returned
finding the streets impassable
Hired the snow cleaned form our walk
Monday. Jan. 5th 1852.
Wet streets, and damp air. Snow melting
We arose early, to be in readiness for
the stage. Julia up in time to commence her school duties.
Louis & Remsen set off to their school also.
Mr. H. went to his office, I was alone.
Put my house in order, worked untill near twelve.
Took my bath. Went to bed and slept untill near three.
A cramp in my foot, and pain slightly through my stomach.
Mr H. did not dine with us.
Dr Duvall, spent the afternoon with Julia.
Mr Laiti [Leati] called, Rima sent him, so I take him on
I engaged him to give Julia lessons in singing to com-
mence on Friday of this week.
How thankful I am, she has some musical talent, it is
so pleasing to my taste!
Could these fascinations be confines for two or three years
to come, to the members of her own family, I shall rejoice.
