Yesterday, the Stone Ridge Library hosted the homecoming for Julia’s portrait. Those of you that were there, you know how wonderful an event it was. We were so fortunate to have Michael Lawrence Wilson and his family attend. Michael is Julia’s great, great, great nephew.
Horace, Julia’s brother, is Michael’s, great, great great grandfather and the only sibling of Julia’s to have living descendants. Michael promised to send images of some items he has including the portraits of Catharine Remsen and Samuel Lawrence, Julia’s parents.

Wow, how exciting! Susan, you resemble Julia very much. The size of Julia’s portrait is much larger than I thought. Thank you for all your hard work. I look forward to your posts everyday.

Hello, I’ve been following this blog since almost the beginning, I think, and wanted to mention it at least for this award. It’s okay if you aren’t into the “blog awards” thing, but I would love it if you answered some of the questions about why you started putting down Julia’s diary into a blog. 🙂
