A fine day. Went to see “Weir’s picture the departure of the Pilgrims this evening. G, did not admire it, thought expression wanting.
Thursday. 12. th. October. 1843.
Cool and pleasant day. Went to the tailors to enquire the fashions for boys clothes, Remsen went with me; to the Milliners also. Purchased “Mrs Ellis housekeeping”. 25 cts.
Friday.13.October.1843.
Charming day. Bridget, and I put down the stair carpet, we make it look as well as new, by our ingenuity. Took my Neapolitan bonnet to Miss Martins to trim. Rode to Chelsea, Mother and C. both looking very pale. Walked home with Henry. House almost settled, for which I am thankfull.
Saturday.14. October. 1843.
Cold and blustering, young winter. Mr Anelli varnished our pictures. Bonnet came home prettily trimmed with orange velvet ribbon. Rode down to see Bell, after dinner, she was out met her in the street. My Cloak agreeable, this cold afternoon.
Sunday. 15. October. 1843
Pleasant morning. G. went with me to Church our church very much improved. Went to hear Mr Bellows at noon did not preach. Mr Hutton, in Broom St. Rain to return …
