Severely cold; last night colder than any preceding one this season.

I went out in defiance of the cold, bundled my- self up warm. Took my coarse lace cape to Becks, and exchanged it for a collar of linen Combric. 3. $. 50cts. Went up to see Mrs Grey, found her at home and beautifully settled in Houston street. Suffered from cold to.day. The Miss Onderdonks called in my absence. G. and I did not go to the Lecture, I dreaded the cold.
